Coffee Questions
When do you roast?
We roast Monday to Friday, and most orders are roasted within a day or two of shipping. Our policy is never to ship coffee more than 14 days past its roast date.
What is the best way to store my coffee?
Our ziplock bags, with their one-way valve, are designed to keep your coffee fresh as long as they're sealed properly once opened. We recommend finishing most of the coffee within 30 days of its roast date. Store beans in an airtight container in a dark, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Choose whole beans over pre-ground where you can, and buy in quantities you'll finish within a few weeks.
What is the roast level and profile?
We roast each coffee to bring out the best of what it has to offer, so most of our coffees sit around the medium range.
A general rule of thumb:
- Light roast coffee has a lighter body and more acidic, fruity flavours.
- Dark roast coffee has a fuller body and a more pronounced roasty flavour.
- Medium roast coffee falls somewhere in between.

Single Origin vs. Espresso Blends?
Simply put, a single origin coffee comes from one country and one region. A blend combines two or more coffees, for example Brazil + Colombia, or Brazil + Papua New Guinea + Java Arabica, to achieve a particular taste profile. Read the full article here.
